Ahh, I am so ready for my Christmas vacation. I have finished with most of my holiday shopping and I am getting ready to fly home for a week of stuffing my face with delicious holiday grub and relaxing. The Felt Club XL was a very successful event. There was a line to get into the venue before it opened and it was good insanity for the first 3 hours. I had a great time and I can't wait until the next Felt Club event. There are pics below.
A few of my plushies were shown at the Gallery Revisited "That Show". There is tons of cute stuff that is still available. If you live in the Los Angeles area, you should definitely check it out. I included a few pics below.

I made mini Dust Bunnis for the Felt Club XL Show. I still have 11 bunnis/kittis left. I put them up on Etsy.
Pls. check them out. They won't be available on my site. These are the only ones that I am going to make. They are 5" X 5" and $16 each plus shipping and tax if it applies.

Just got back from the Crafty Bastards Show in D.C. So much fun! Thanks to the Washington DC City Paper for putting on an amazing Show. There was a Burlesque act, b-boys, fun bands and a continious huge crowd that constantly packed our tent. Cherry Box and I had a sweet time. Pics posted later this week. But until then I wanted to share the new collection with everyone. What is black and white and Red all over??? The Dust Bunni Red Collection that's what. Check it out under the cut. The necklaces below are apart of this snazzy bunch of Dust Bunni accessories.

First things first, it has been a while since I added a new tee design to the mix so I stirred up a design called Double Trouble. See below for more info. Look for more posts later this week. I am working on some really kick ass winter bags.
Cheers!

Who are those dorky cutie pies in the sky??? They are the Nerdy Birdy Crew thats whooooo! Inspired by all of the geeks in the world, please allow me to introduce this flock of hip tweeters..hee-hee. This is a playful stab at people who like things that others might consider a little dorky. And yes, I definitely would include myself as inspiration for this new brand of plushies. I love some things that would definitely be considered nerdy to some. An examplewould include watching Fantasy movies....umm......and being there on opening night so I can be the first to see the flick out of all my friends. Each Nerdy Birdy has a unique pair of glasses complete with coke bottle lenses that magnify their eyes so they look huge. Cheers to the nerd in all of us and make sure to check out my Nerdy Birdies! Now available in the tsai-fi shop.

Dust Bunni pins are going to hippity hop their way to your heart. There is no resisting these cute little finishing touches. Snazz up a simple tee, add some pizzazz to that knit hat, adorn your bag, or just stick it on the lapel of your jean jacket. There are endless ways to rock this sweet pin. The pins have a 4" diameter. On the reverse side of the pin, there is a tsai-fi logo.

I have been insanely busy so I haven't updated my journal in forever. First things first, I was asked to participate in a brand new monthly mini craft show called Felt Club in Los Angeles. Come and check me out if you are in LA next Saturday May 13 in Hollywood. http://www.feltclub.com
Sew Darn Cute is a co organizer and vendor and there are also some other great vendors such as Susan Stars and Axelhoney. There is a flyer below.

Next, I was accepted as a contributor for the Mtv Style Lounge Sampler. So I made 10 editorial samples that consisted of 3D dust Bunni keychains and 35 flatsy Dust Bunni keychains. Check out the site and the other fab contributors. There are more pics below.

Finally I am just getting ready for the Renegade Festival http://www.renegadecraft.com in June with Cherry Box. I am working on some new bags and a highly anticipated dust Bunni Tee! Whew.. I am getting sew tired if you catch my drift. I will be sending out updates for the new goods later this week.

I have had a little bit of a bag obssesion recently so I was totally inspired to have a few panels of the Morning After design printed when I just made my tee shirts. This bag rocks cause not only is it study brown canvas with a silver screen print but it also has a keychain bottle opener. I wanted to have them printed up with the Smashed Sea logo but the minimums were ridiculous. They are about 11' X 12". Check out my Morning After Totes!

I had a hankering to do a lil' paintin' so I created some mini dust bunni paintings on wooden hearts and I put them on cute little chains.

Click the pic for more info.

I am only going to make one of each necklace. So these are completely unique. They are handpainted with arcylic paints on wooden hearts that have a polyurethane gloss to finish them off. I also handpainted a tsai-fi signature on the back of each heart. The blue bunni necklace is off to the Seek Indie contest next week, so that one is already spoken for. I absolutely love making these so if you have a custom request, I would be more than happy to make the exact colors that you want for a few extra clams. These little pendant necklaces are an excellent value at $28 for a uniquely mini art piece.

This is the first Super Limited Edition Dust Bunni in the tsai-fi collection. Currently on the tsai-fi site when a dust bunni is purchased, I make another one and just keep replacing the sold ones. The new bunnis are going to be in editions of 8 and they are going to have special sewn tags that are numbered. Check them out! Meet Racer, a Dust Bunni that loves to zoom around. He feels the need to zip past all of the other bunnis at lighting speed. Dust Bunnis have been involved in two plushies art shows and are for sale on one other webstore and a few retail stores. He loves to shout eat my dust! Click the pic to get mo' info on this handsome little devil.

There are two new Morning After designs. I have added a Men's tee to satisfy some requests that I have had for a men's style and a new heather grey color way. There are three more last call designs. A tank top which is a must for the summer, a new color way and a new tee style for the black tee. I am slowly switching to American Apparel tees. They are a little more costly but they come in so many colors, the design choices are endless and a lot of people are more familiar with the fit of this brand.

Splendid cup of Tea

Splendid cup of Tea

I haven't participated in like for-ever but I felt inspired to create an illo about the topic of the week which is tea. I always think of two things when I hear the word tea. One is Boba and the other is the tea party scene in Alice in Wonderland. So I went for Alice. Here is Alice and the White Rabbit. She is irritated that the white rabbit has decided to get some much needed R and R in her spendid cup of tasty tea.

Check out new Dust Bunni Chain strap purses. The story behind these bags is that I really was tired of going out and feelin like I couldn't get my dance on because my bag felt too bulky and was cramping my style. I checked out my fave stores but I couldn't find something that was cute and matched my style. So I created these little mini Purses. The first bag is made of Electric Blue taffeta with a hot pink cotton lining and also includes a mini pink dust bunni. The second bag is made of printed sage twill and has a navy blue cotton lining and it comes with a periwinkle mini bunni. Each bag has a 36" chain strap made to go across your body. The purse is 6" tall and 8" wide at widest point. There are only two of each colorway available.

This pic above is of my plushies at the Plush Week At Gallery 1988 Feb. 7-14. I went to the reception on Tuesday and the gallery was crammed full of colorful exciting plushies and there was hardly room to move around. A lot of people turned out to check out all of the lovely artists. My plushies felt that they were in very good company since they were nested between Cuddly Rigor Mort's and Jen Harada's. I couln't stay at the reception too long, so I didn't get to meet any of the artists except for Love Alban. But we already knew each other from exhibiting our work together at the Pictoplasma 2 show from a few years ago.
Below are a few links that had pics of tsai-fi plushies to promote the show.
